At Insight Opticians we appreciate that children don’t want to spend their precious time at the opticians – they have trees to climb, online games to complete and in some (reluctant) cases, homework to do. It’s for that reason we don’t do ‘boring’ sight tests.
Children’s eye exams at our practice are designed to be fun. Using a range of interactive methods and visual activities, we’re able to check eyes of all ages from toddlers through to teenagers, including little ones as young as 12 months old.
“We’re often humbled to test the eyes of children whose parents used to visit us when they were children.”
Receptionist
You’re strongly recommended to bring your child to see us regularly from a young age. This is because the eyes develop at a dramatic rate and up until the age of eight, many minor eye conditions can be completely rectified.
Don’t forget: The majority of eye conditions don’t have any obvious symptoms. It is therefore important you don’t rely on your youngster to tell you they’re having problems with their vision, because they may not realise it themselves.
Finally, eye exams are completely FREE for children under 16 (under 19 if in full time education) courtesy of the NHS.
